What is service of process?

When legal action is about to be taken on someone, they must be properly notified before a hearing can take place. A person must be aware of legal action being taken against them, so they can defend themselves in a court of law. This notification is called service of process.

What does a process server do?

Process servers make sure that the intended person gets notification of an impending legal action against them. A professional process server can help you navigate the state statutes to avoid any legal issues with your case later. There are many rules and regulations regarding service of process in Minnesota that must be followed to ensure the party you’re taking to court is properly informed. Failure to follow all of these rules could hurt your chances of winning a case in a court of law.
